school-based therapy

GIFTS has a growing partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools, to provide mental health services in the academic setting. We are contracted with BCPS to serve students enrolled at schools with established partnerships. We provide person-centered treatment planning, individual therapy, consultation and collaboration with school staff in order to improve the lives of our student clients. School-based clients have access to other services provided by GIFTS such as medication/diagnostic evaluations and family therapy services.  Students are referred either by school staff or families to receive individual therapy at their school in order to address a range of concerns:

  • Anxiety, panic, or stress

  • Intense sadness

  • Conduct and behavior

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Difficulty getting along with others

  • Grief and loss

  • Traumatic experiences

  • Feelings of loneliness and worthlessness
